DESCRIPTION:Explore Historic Downtown Homestead on a photo walk with documentary photographer Carlos Munoz. Learn about the basics of photography and documenting your community during this hands-on experience! \n\n\n\nAll skill levels welcome! Working knowledge of your camera equipment recommended. Workshop will be focused on outdoor photography. Participants must bring their own digital camera with manual controls that allows for adjustments to the aperture\, shutter speed\, ISO\, and exposure compensation. \n\n\n\nThis workshop has a capacity of 10 participants. \n\n\n\nPresented in conjunction with the exhibition Belonging in Transit\, on view through March 29\, 2026. Ticket includes complimentary pass to HistoryMiami Museum. \n\n\n\nMembers: $25\, Non-Members: $35\, Children 14 & Under: $15\n\n\n\n\n\n\n    Register \n    \n\n\n\nChildren 17 & under must be accompanied by an adult to participate in this program. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFeatured Speaker:\n\n\n\n\nCarlos “Cali” MuñozDocumentary Photographer\n\n\n\nCarlos “Cali” Muñoz is a documentary photographer\, born in Caracas\, Venezuela\, to Colombian parents. He discovered his passion for photography while advocating for social causes in Venezuela\, and in 2015 emigrated to Miami\, where he began a new chapter dedicated to visual storytelling. \n\n\n\nHis current work focuses on Redland Market Village in Homestead\, Florida\, where he documents the lives of immigrants\, primarily from Mexico and Central America\, who gather around this vibrant marketplace. Through his lens\, Cali highlights cultural traditions\, daily struggles\, and aspirations\, showcasing the resilience and diversity that shape South Florida’s social fabric. His photography goes beyond the technical\, seeking the essence of people and the untold stories that live beneath the surface. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\n\n\nPlease see below for additional information regarding the program.
