SUMMARY:Drum Building Workshop: Make Your Own Tassa Drum
DESCRIPTION:Take home a piece of tassa tradition during this one-of-a-kind drum building workshop. Master musician and drum builder Romeo Ragbir will lead you in making your own tassa\, a bowl-shaped drum that originated in India and spread throughout the Caribbean. After a music demonstration featuring both traditional and modern drums\, Romeo will guide participants in building a tassa from scratch. Participants will leave with their own handmade instrument to keep. Supplies included. Beginners welcome. Recommended for ages 12+.
